First Selectman Campbell Tomorrow on EARTH DAY

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

Local grassroots environmental advocates have organized a “Global Day of Conversation” between residents of Darien and New Canaan, which will take place on the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day.

The event “Bridging the Border Between Darien and New Canaan” will take place in the Merritt Room at the Talmadge Hill Community Church (870 Hollow Tree Ridge Road, Darien, CT 06820) on Thursday, April 22, 2010 from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. The church is located at the southeast corner of Talmadge Hill Road and Hollow Tree Ridge Road.

Both David Campbell, First Selectman of Darien and Jeb Walker, First Selectman of New Canaan have been invited to take part in the conversation.

Sustainability will likely be central to the evening’s conversation: weaving sustainability into building envelopes, land use, water & energy consumption, transportation (walkability; complete streets) and our local economy.

Darien and New Canaan residents are strongly encourage to attend.
